2. Lamb outlook remains bright!MSA-Sheep-Brochure_WEB[1]

For the first six months of 2014, the Australian lamb industry was, once again, one of the shining lights of Australian agriculture. Meat & Livestock Australia’s (MLA) sheep industry projections mid-year update, released in August, suggested that strong export demand had absorbed historically high kill numbers, reflecting in favourable comparative returns to Australian lamb producers.

3. Apps for sheep producersPhones

There are now well over one million smartphone apps in both the App Store (for iPhone) and Google play (for Android), and growth in this market space shows no signs of slowing. There are a number of handy Apps available to sheep producers, James Tyson, Sheep Connect Tasmania has put together a list of the most useful Apps for producers. Many of these Apps work on your phone regardless of the phone reception, once the App is downloaded, it can be utilised at any time.

5. Longreach business summit addresses the big issuesAus dollar

The wool market outlook was one of many topics spoken about at a recent Business Summit held in Longreach. Agrihive organised the summit with CEO’s from all over the country coming together to discuss the issues that face livestock producers. The summit also covered the highly unpredictable topic of ‘Will it Rain’, Roger Stone Professor in Climatology and Water Resources, spoke about the current conditions and scenarios that are shaping up for Qld producers.
